the end of life as we know it

I think I’ve realized why parents are so shitty now a days and why kids are such bastards. Its because the parents and the children grow up in such different times. The difference in the two generations is so different. The way the world is growing so fast the difference between parent and child is growing just as fast. Think about it how many times have you heard your father or mother says “you know I was your age once.” Yes you were but in a completely different time. When you could go to the movies and get soda and pop corn for a dollar, where kids used to play outside all day until it was dark, where when you didn’t know something you looked it up in the encyclopedia and when you were 12 years old got a job delivering newspapers. Times have changed dramatically especially the last 50 years. Kids and parents are growing further and further apart because their experiences as a child are so different. If you go back like 200 years saying “I was your age once” actually meant we have gone through the same thing. Your father was a farmer meant you were going to grow up to be a farmer. The difference continues to grow at a faster and faster pace.
I am terrified of what the future holds. I honestly believe the end of mankind will come indefinitely with in the next 500 years, probably sooner; I’m being very lenient saying 500 years. I mean Jesus Christ almost 500 years ago we thought the earth was flat. That’s another thing I personally believe the church will be completely gone by the end of this century. But that’s a totally different story, I digress. Think about the changes we’ve made since the early 20th century. Starting with being amazed with the wright brothers because they flew a plane like 200 feet, to 70 years later being able to put a man on the moon and drive a car on a distant planet. That’s already 40 years ago. The 20th century in my opinion is and will always be the greatest century ever. Everything they did was amazing people never imagined half the stuff that happened. The sky was the limit, its not anymore because theres footprints on the moon. In todays world nothing phases us any more. Its more like “what will they come up with next?” We were constantly building things up and making transportation and communication faster. We’ve made more advancements in the last hundred years then they did from lets say year 0 till 1000. Skyscrapers, planes, cars and the invention of the internet, which undoubtedly will be the downfall of mankind. I think one of the most accurate movies on the future is the terminator. The way technology is moving so fast it is going to pass us. Its moving way to fast for us to keep up with it. It already has passed us, that computer Watson is smarter then people, it has the ability to learn. What happens when it learns it can over take us then what. Then were all fucked.
This is just one of the many reasons why I don’t want to have kids because I might not see the complete downfall of humans but they probably will; the worst part is they won’t even know it. They’ll be to caught up in their lives to even notice it. Plus I don’t want to have kids because I don’t want to see how horrible this world has become through the child. The new generation of kids doesn’t know what it was like because everything is spoon fed to them. Kids are 8-9 years old and they already have Facebook’s and cell phones. This type of technology is destroying our youth; they aren’t going to know the true meaning of life because they will be blinded by the technology. Also we are raising a generation of pussies. Kids aren’t tough any more and its because of the parents. Every kid is a winner now no matter what, they don’t keep score or anything. I’m not just talking about sports I’m talking about everything as a kid. That’s horrible, your kid needs to know what its like to lose because he is going to grow up his whole life thinking he can do/get what ever he wants because that’s how he was brought up. I know it sounds terrible to say that and your kid will probably hate you but its for their own good and they will thank you when they get older. I honestly believe my parents weren’t hard on me enough when I was a kid, they didn’t push me to do my best, I cant fully blame them because I didn’t push myself but that’s what they are there for. So if you let your kid think he is a winner his whole life what do you tell him when he gets out of high school and cant get a job or cant get into a good school, he’s a fucking loser. Now he is a depressed fuck because he doesn’t know what its like to lose. Now it takes him an extra ten years to learn what real life is about and you don’t get rid of your kid till he’s about 30, if your lucky. Plus because of Facebook and cell phones kids are able to talk shit to each other with out saying it to their face, which is really bad. I’m telling you if you raise your kids tough you wont be disappointed, make them work for everything they get. I know I don’t want to have kids but if I ever do my kid will probably hate me but thank me when he/she gets older.
I think my generation might be one of the worst ones because we aren’t old enough to have this pass us and we aren’t young enough to have been born into where it seems normal. I mean not everyone in my generation even really notices this because most people don’t just stop to think. I don’t want to seem like a luddite because all of this technology does make life easier but it is taking away from life. Its making life go by faster because everyone is living faster. That’s what its all about how fast you can get something or find something out or get from point A to point B. It is taking away from us as humans because it isn’t allowing us to think for ourselves. As human beings on earth we are the smartest species, which is why we are at the top of the food chain. But I think that we have out smarted ourselves, we created something that’s better then us. The internet. The internet is fairly new if you think about it and it really hasn’t gotten big except for the last few years. Mainly because of social networking.
Which brings me to my next point, Facebook. Facebook isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, this isn’t MySpace. Anybody who’s anybody has a Facebook, your not connected to the world unless you have a Facebook. There are currently almost 650 million Facebook users in the world and rapidly growing. Every major company you see is on Facebook, it almost holds the world together, and its pretty new, which is the scary part. I personally believe that within the next 30 years or so Facebook will be controlling the economy. It will be part of everything, it will give you your identity. When your born your birth certificate will be on Facebook. It will be part of everything and when it crashes, which it will because everything comes to an end the world will go into mass chaos. If Facebook does become that big I think that means Mark Zucherberg will be the ruler of the world. Ok well maybe that’s a little much but you get the point. But i personally believe he will be the first trillionaire, with out a doubt.
Were only in the 11th year of this century and already we have made major improvements. But they are happening to fast. Humans have been evolving over the last past thousands of years. We aren’t able to adapt quickly enough to this rapidly changing world. I’m only 19 and I already see major changes. Remember dial up? Now you couldn’t be on the phone and the internet at the same time, now you can do both even faster with a cell phone. I’m really scared of how much the world is going to change just in the next decade.
Medicine has already and will make an even more dramatic improvement, by the end of this century I believe people will be living to 125+, mainly because of interchangeable parts. Being able to get new organs or new limbs. But this type of service wont be available to everyone, it will only be available to the rich people. By the end of this century there will be no middle class. I know we have been saying this for years even centuries before us like in 18th century France. But its going to get to the point of no return. You will either be really rich or really poor. The rich people will live in beautiful houses in the middle of the city and the poor folks will live like scum on the outskirts of the city and the two groups wont interact with each other. The rich people will look down upon that group of society. The rich people will be living for over a hundred years and the poor people will be dying before they even hit the age of 50.
I know this sounds like a horrible world but with the way things are going this is where we are headed. We are becoming dumber as humans because we don’t have to work as hard to get what we want. I don’t want you to get the wrong idea and think that my vision of the end of the world involves all us humans dyeing. We  will still be here but because of the way technology has made everything easier the way we interact with each other is changing, and its changing faster and faster. We are becoming socially retarted because of it. Even though we are progressing in everything, I feel as if we are regressing as human beings. We wont be physically dead but we will be dead spiritually.
